ANY NICKNAMES? Coach & Rev. Neither one really stuck after moving back to Big Spring

HOMETOWN: Big Spring

FIRST JOB? Delivered the “Big Spring Herald” in Junior High School. My first “real job” was at Burger King on FM 700. I then came to work at KBST for a couple of years in high school.

CURRENT OBSESSIONS: Broadcasting sports, tending to my horses and riding my personal favorite, Concho. Did I mention sports?

ALL-TIME FAVORITE MOVIE: There is really no room for debate on this one. Although I have no doubt that many will pick “Shawshank Redemption”, the correct answer is “Remember the Titans”.

IF YOU WEREN’T IN RADIO, WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING? Riding the fences on Concho in the Davis Mountains.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN THE 3 SECOND RULE? Of course I believe in the 3 second rule. It’s the most violated (and least called) foul in basketball. This is a silly question – this is like asking if I think Tom Brady cheated?!

FAVORITE QUOTES:
“Attitude Reflects Leadership, Captain” – Remember the Titans
“Courage is Being Scared to Death…and Saddling Up Anyway” – John Wayne
“To Succeed in Life, You Need Three Things: A Wishbone, a Backbone and a Funny Bone” – Reba McEntire

TEAMS:
Sic ‘Em Baylor Bears, Big Spring Steers, Coahoma Bulldogs, Forsan Buffaloes, Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and the USA Women’s Curling Team

Pet Peeves:
Interrupting!
Loud music from the car next to me
Toothpaste in the sink
Toilet paper rolled the wrong way – Adrienne!
Swearing in public
Biting into a Jelly Bean and finding out it is a different flavor than I expected – talking to you Mudbug!

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF:
I am a very proud Army Brat and lived all over the world until we settled in Big Spring when I was 10 years old. I graduated from Big Spring High School in 1989, went to college at Angelo State and graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and English. I am blessed with the 2 greatest children ever put on this earth. Heather teaches in the Hutto School District, married to a guy that I approve of and expecting their first child. Garrett is currently enrolled at Angelo State and a member of the Ram Clay Target Team. My time away from the station is spent volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America through Troop 5 and also as the District Chairman for the Lone Star District. If you can’t find me, I have escaped to the barn along with my friends, dogs and horses. I SUPPORT OUR TROOPS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT!

Adrienne Green

ANY NICKNAMES? Wife

HOMETOWN: SNYDER, TX, Baby!!

FIRST JOB? Burger King at the Rip Griffin’s truck stop in Snyder.

CURRENT OBSESSIONS: Drag Queens and Stand-Up Comedy

ALL-TIME FAVORITE MOVIE: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

FUNNIEST MEMORY: Once when we were kids, my sister and I were competing in the living room to see who could do the best/highest cheerleader kick. We each had 2 attempts. I did fairly well, but my sister blew it out of the water. I remember my eyes got huge and I was in awe…until her other leg came out from under her and she fell hard and ended up breaking her tailbone. This cracks me up every time I think about it.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WERE INVISIBLE FOR A DAY? I would mess with people here in the office, and then sit in on some good movies at the theater.

IF YOU COULD BE ANY CARTOON CHARACTER, WHO WOULD YOU BE AND WHY? I would be Rogue from X-Men (Saturday morning cartoons). She’s strong, sassy, flies, and can absorb powers from other mutants…what’s not to love? (Okay, so there’s the no human contact thing-but I think I could be okay with that.)

FAVORITE QUOTES:
“If God is for us, who could be against us?” ~ Romans 8:31

PET PEEVES: Telemarketers/phone scams

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF: It was a few years ago when I stepped into the KBest Media office and explained that I had no experience in radio but I was available to help and wanted to learn for free because radio is something that I’ve had an interest in for many years. Thankfully, they decided to hire and train me part-time as a board operator. Less than a year later, I was offered a position to co-host KBest Country Chaos with Mark, and it’s been a ton of fun!

When I’m not hosting the morning show or writing news stories for KBest News, I work on my stand-up comedy routine. Thursday nights you can catch me on Open Mic Night in Downtown Big Spring, or keep up with it on my Facebook page for The Green Bean Comic   Facebook: The Green Bean Comic

Red Eye Radio

Hosted by radio veterans Eric Harley and Gary McNamara

For almost 50 years, Red Eye Radio Network has been a part of the fabric of the trucking industry by consistently providing professional drivers up-to-the-minute news, information, and entertainment. The show is motivated by one purpose — to deliver a positive, in-cab experience by helping trucker drivers/owner operators and fleet owners stay informed, engaged, and entertained on the road or wherever they are in their daily lives.

Red Eye Radio is hosted by radio veterans Eric Harley and Gary McNamara. The program airs Monday through Sunday from Midnight to 5 am.

Each morning the hosts cover topics such as current world/national events, trucking regulations, preventative truck maintenance, driver safety issues, and geo-targeted local/regional news and weather. Other features include safety tips, engine reports, and health news, as well as a morning USDA report and NFL updates.

Red Eye Radio has a proud history as the longest-running nationally syndicated radio program targeting the trucking industry in the United States.  Facebook: Red Eye Radio

Eric Harley’s radio career spans over three decades. He has entertained listeners across America with his insight and humor. During the height of the Alternative Format boom of the 90’s, Eric handled creative services for 94.5 The Edge (KDGE) in Dallas. In 1996, he gained national exposure as host on the Pure Gold Oldies format for ABC Radio Networks.

In 1996, Eric came aboard to co-host The Midnight Radio Network as the show launched nationally. From 2000 to 2009, Eric doubled up on his duties by also lending his talents to the WBAP Morning News With Hal Jay as the voice actor and writer for many of that show’s long list of legendary characters. Gary McNamara joined Eric on MRN in the summer of 2005 and in 2012, the broadcast duo took the reins of Red Eye Radio, creating an overnight program reaching more than 150 stations.

Growing up as the son of a military veteran (Eric’s father served in two foreign wars), Eric has a deep affection for those who serve. He is a strong supporter of organizations like The Coalition To Salute America’s Heroes and others. Eric is extremely grateful for the opportunity to speak freely for a living and is a staunch defender of liberty for all Americans. As a dedicated runner, he loves to clear his mind on the road each morning. More importantly, he is a dedicated husband and father, who enjoys nothing more than spending time with his family.

Gary McNamara launched his radio career at WJJL Niagara Falls, NY. From there he returned to his hometown of Buffalo, where he broadcast from WBEN. Following successful stints with WLS in Chicago and KXL in Portland, OR, Gary joined the roster at Dallas/Fort Worth’s WBAP in 2000. He served as an afternoon drive personality for the station before being paired with Eric Harley in 2005 to co-host The Midnight Radio Network, which had built a loyal following among late night radio listeners. In 2012, Eric and Gary became the hosts of Red Eye Radio, which airs on more than 200 affiliates.

Prior to entering the broadcasting world, Gary compiled a resume as colorful as his personality. From janitor to bill collector to assembly line machinist and stand-up comic, Gary’s “regular guy” persona make him one of the country’s most relatable hosts. Like the vast majority of his listeners, Gary believes that America doesn’t owe him a thing but he owes this country everything. His opinions on freedom, capitalism and the willingness of Americans to sacrifice for both are constant themes in his broadcasts.

When he’s not on the air, Gary enjoys being on the golf course or playing a game of pick-up basketball with his neighbors.
