The United Way has three upcoming events for the holiday season. The popular “Empty Bowls” fundraiser will be coming up on Thursday, November 20 from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Tickets are $30 each. The “Empty Bowls” fundraiser supports hunger relief programs. Participants enjoy a simple meal of bread and soup and are then given the opportunity to bid on handcrafted bowls to support United Way initiatives.
Next up is the “Swingin’ Into the Holidays” concert at the Hangar 25 Air Museum, featuring Jody Nix and the Texas Cowboys and The Rocky King Band. The concert will be from 7 to 11 pm. Tickets are $25 per person or $250 for a table for 8 people.
Lastly is “Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus”. This event includes a full pancake and sausage breakfast, fun holiday crafts and activities, Christmas movies and of course a visit and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. This breakfast will take place on Saturday December 6 from 9-11 am at the Old Graumann Building at 304 Austin Street, downtown.
Tickets for these events are available on the United Way of Big Spring and Howard County Facebook page or in person at the United Way office in the Chamber of Commerce building at 215 W. 3rd Street. For more information about any of these events you can contact Kelly Seales at 432-268-3528.
