Friends, family and those who admired Natividad “Nati” Saldivar gathered Tuesday morning, October 21, to celebrate her vibrant legacy and powerful impact on the City Of Big Spring by planting a tree in Bert Andres Park. We spoke with Eddilisa Ray, Saldivar’s daughter and Howard County Commissioner for Precinct 1, about the recognition of her mother.
“I am so honored and blessed by the City of Big Spring and Diane Yanez and everybody involved for memorializing my Mom. This park is very special to her and we are just so honored to get to celebrate her again publicly.”
Nati Saldivar was born and raised in Big Spring and was the president and founder of the North Side Movement , a 501(c) nonprofit organization. Saldivar was responsible for the restoration of St. Thomas Square and uplifting countless numbers of underserved residents.
