BIG SPRING – A vibrant three-day celebration honoring loved ones who have passed will take place this year at Trinity Memorial Park, as Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory hosts its first Día De Los Muertos event. The celebration runs Friday, October 31 through Sunday, November 2, featuring traditional activities that bring families together to remember and honor those who have gone before them. Families are encouraged to bring a framed photo (5×7 maximum) of their loved one to place on the community altar inside the Peace Chapel. This collective display of remembrance will serve as the heart of the celebration, symbolizing love and connection across generations. The All Souls Day Celebration will be held Sunday, November 2, from 2 to 6 p.m., with a special service at 4 p.m. officiated by Father Serafin Avendio. Guests are asked to bring a lawn chair, as seating inside the chapel is limited. Activities on Sunday also include face painting, food vendors, and the colorful traditions of Día De Los Muertos — from decorated altars and music to shared stories that celebrate life and memory. “Día De Los Muertos is a meaningful way to honor loved ones while embracing the joy of life and community,” said Kasi Welch-Baker, Owner and Funeral Director of Nalley-Pickle & Welch. “We welcome everyone to take part in this special time of remembrance.” The event is free and open to the public. Trinity Memorial Park is located 5 miles south of Big Spring at 6900 U.S. Highway 87. For more information, call Nalley Pickle and Welch at 432-267-6331.
