SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Coahoma High School Big Red Band earned its fourth consecutive Division I (superior) rating for its 2025 marching show, “Sparkle,” at the Concho Classic Marching Festival last Saturday.
In addition to the top score from the judges, the band placed third in the Class 3A competition and earned the Outstanding Woodwinds award for both the 3A classification and overall.
Twenty-nine bands, ranging from Class 1A to Class 6A, competed at the festival, which was held at San Angelo Stadium. This was the first time the Big Red Band performed its complete marching show.
Next up: The band will perform at the UIL Region 6 West Zone Marching Contest at 2:25 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa.
If the band earns a Division I rating, it will advance to the Area contest for a chance to compete for a spot at the 2025 state marching band contest.
