St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, located at 1001 S. Goliad in Big Spring, will hold a celebration for the church’s 140 year founding anniversary on November 6, 2025 at 5:30 pm. This will also be a celebration of the installation of Father Christopher Simpson as rector at the church. There will be a reception following the mass.
St. Mary’s Episcopal Church was founded in Big Spring in 1885. Since the 1960’s, the congregation has worshiped in its current building on Goliad street.
Father Christopher Simpson comes to St. Mary’s from Lincoln, Illinois where he was the rector at Trinity Episcopal Church. He was also a professor of Philosophical Theology at Lincoln Christian University for 15 years. Simpson and his wife, Kaysha, have two grown children. Kaysha is the Hearing Care Practitioner at Belton in Big Spring.
