Russ McEwen Center starting use of Splash Cash
(BIG SPRING, TEXAS)- The City of Big Spring’s Russ McEwen Aquatic Center will open Saturday, May 31, 2025, for the summer season. Located at 911 Golf Course Road, inside the Comanche Trail Park, the facility features a lazy river, multiple slides, and a splash pad.
The center charges a $5 entry fee for guests 3 years of age and older and is open from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays through Saturdays and 1-8 p.m. on Sundays. The Aquatic Center is closed for cleaning and private rentals on Mondays.
Splash Cash will be introduced this year so people will have the option of loading a card with an amount of their choice upon entry. That card can then be used at the concession stand as well as for future entry fees. According to Susan Himes, Community Services Director for the Big Spring Convention & Visitors Bureau, Coins can clog pool filters and money can get lost. The Splash Cash cards will have the owner’s name on them in case they are misplaced.
Punch cards are also available, with 12 entries available for the price of 10. Pavilions are available for private rental at $25 per hour at a 2-hour minimum. To rent, a $25 deposit must be paid in person at the Big Spring Visitor Center, located at 113 E. 3rd Street.
Swim diapers are always mandatory for children under 2 and for any child who still wears regular diapers and is not fully potty-trained. Any person who has experienced digestive or intestinal issues within the last 48 hours may not use the facility.
