Homer Wilkerson won the vote for Big Spring City Council District 4 with 330 votes compared to his competitor Matthew Grayson, who received 63. “I’ve lived here most of my life and I want to see our city prosper,” Wilkerson said. “We’ve got a lot of positives here and I’m anxious to spread the word about Big Spring.”
Daniel Moreno received the vote for Big Spring City Council District 6 with 109 votes. His competitor Steven “Boatie” Boatenhamer received 98. Moreno is a young 30-year-old who has run for city council twice prior, and hasn’t let past failures stop him. He says he wants voters to know that he works hard in anything and everything he does.
“I just want people to know that in anything, I have never given up. I’m going to do the best that I can for not only my constituents, but Big Spring as well,” Moreno said. “I have lived here almost all my life. I want to be the best representation of not only Big Spring, but Jesus as well, and bring light to people.” Moreno said he wants to see Big Spring fire and police departments become fully staffed and bring new ideas to the council.
