BIG SPRING, TX — Big Spring City Council will meet for a regular meeting this afternoon at 5:15 PM at the Council Chambers, located at 307 E. 4th St. in Big Spring.
Items on the agenda include a report regarding an update on Animal Control and an introduction to the Adoption Coordinator Dakota Stotyn. There will also be a presentation on a final report for recommendations for rebuilding the Dora Roberts Community Center by the Convention and Visitors Bureau. A public hearing will also be held for a zone change of 7.180 acres in the Kentwood Addition from Single-Family Dwelling District to Planned Development for Housing Development. There will also be multiple public hearings to consider properties for possible abatement due to being a public nuisance. The properties that will be considered are:
1510 W. 1st, owned by Noel Allen
2507 Peach, owned by R.T. Johnson
706 NW 5th, owned by Lionel Perez and Juana Perez
2508 Peach, owned by Nora Garcia
Also during tonight’s meeting, the council will possibly take action to amend the Drought Contingency Plan and consider an interlocal agreement with Howard County for Emergency Ambulance Service.
