BIG SPRING, TX — The Big Area Chamber of Commerce Spring Health Fair is this Saturday, April 20th. It’ll be held from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum on the Howard College campus. This year’s theme is “Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise”. There will be a variety of vendors on site distributing information about the local resources available that can help community members manage their health and finances, and information on how to become involved in the community. Plus, the annual kid’s bike safety course will make a return, and Pirkle-Weir Insurance will be distributing free child bike helmets while supplies last.
There will also be a blood drive on Saturday from 9 am to 12:45 pm in the parking lot of the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum in the Bloodmobile. Donors will receive a Sonic coupon and an entry for a chance to win 1 of 20 $400 gift cards.
Also on Saturday, Keep Big Spring Beautiful will hold their annual Trash Off on that day. Trash containers will be provided in the parking lot from 9 am to 12 pm. Trash bags and gloves, provided by H-E-B, will be provided at the coliseum parking lot the morning of the event. For more information, contact Peggy Skiles at 432-267-3956.
