BIG SPRING, TX — KBest Media is seeing a change to their Sunday night format with the addition of KBest Puro Tejano, a Tejano music show hosted by Raul Marquez. Marquez has been a Tejano music DJ for over 33 years and has a large audience. In fact, KBest Puro Tejano was named by his listeners. After a hundred suggestions, his followers decided on KBest PURO Tejano.
According to Marquez, one of the benefits of adding his Tejano show to KBest is that there is streaming available.
“Most of the radio stations are streaming now, and so I was able to send that app to a lot of my friends all over the United States. I even sent it to my grandson in Japan, about two weeks ago he was listening to my program. So it brings a little bit of home for people in the military and also a little bit of home for people that are away from their hometown. That’s why it’s been a great success, people were happy,” said Marquez.
He went on to say that KBest Puro Tejano has been a great success with listeners.
When asked what listeners can expect from his show on Sunday nights, Marquez said, “The best Tejano music that you can enjoy, that will make your feet wanna dance, wanna remember old things because I play music from the 60s up to now.”
KBEST Puro Tejano airs on Sunday nights from 5 pm to midnight on The Mighty 1490 AM and FM 103.9.
