How the Brawl Came to Big Spring

The Big Spring Brawl took place on Saturday August 23 at the Fairbarn Pavillon.  With 360 Pro Wrestling bringing in John Bradshaw Layfield and Ron Simmons into our town, it ;might be tempting to wonder how all this came to be.  The story is one about a father, Alton McGruder, teaching his son about adversity in life.  His son got jumped by six kids at school and his Dad had some advice.  Here’s what he had to say.

“You can give these people power and not show up even though you have made a commitment to your team or you can shy away from it.  It’s adversity in life son and how you react to these situations now are going to be how you react to them later in life.”

McGruder stated that his son overcoming this adversity inspired him to bring some family-friendly, anti-bullying entertainment to Big Spring.  He made a call to 360 Pro Wrestling and convinced them to bring wrestling to Big Spring.  He is now on the Board of Directors of 360 Pro Wrestling.  This is the third year the company has come to town and McGruder states the reaction from kids and parents have been positive.
