LivingWorks ASIST workshop teaches the student to provide suicide first aid and to recognize when someone is thinking about suicide. It also teaches how to provide a skilled intervention and to develop a safety plan to connect to further support. The workshop also explores how personal and community attitudes about suicide affects a person’s willingness to seek help. This is an evidence based program that increases general counseling and listening abilities.
