COAHOMA, TX — On Monday afternoon, Coahoma Bulldogette Avery Rodriguez committed to play softball at Concordia University — Austin. Rodriguez told KBest News she was excited to sign her letter of intent and had been waiting for this moment her whole life. She’s been playing softball since she was 5 years old. She was very appreciative of her parents and coaches for helping her along the way to this opportunity.
When asked why she chose Concordia University – Austin, Rodriguez said the first time she visited it felt like home.
“From the first camp I went to [at Concordia], it felt like I was back in Coahoma. I wanted a place I could feel at home at and feel safe,” said Rodriguez.
She told KBest news she plans to study kinesiology so she can become a physical therapist.
