BIG SPRING, TX — The first musical to be performed in 10 years by Steer Theatre – Five Golden Rings: A Greeting Card Channel Holiday Musical – debuts tonight at 6:30 PM at the Big Spring High School Auditorium.
According to Reba Strebeck, BSHS Steer Theatre Director, the original plan was to collaborate with the choir department but that plan fell apart. There are no choir students in this musical performance. When asked why she decided to continue with the performance, Strebeck told KBest News that she felt it was important for the students to have this experience because of several students are very serious about continuing to theatre in college.
“When you go to college, you have to do musicals. I didn’t start theatre until I went into college, and got thrust into my first musical. I feel like if they get a little bit of experience on that in high school that it’ll take them really far,” said Strebeck.
Again, Five Golden Rings: A Greeting Card Channel Holiday Musical will be performed tonight and tomorrow (Dec. 19-20, 2024) at 6:30 PM at the Big Spring High School Auditorium. General Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for Students, and children 4 and under are free with the purchase of a General Admission. Note only cash will be accepted.
