BIG SPRING, TX — KBest is encouraging the public to help spread Christmas Cheer in Howard County by participating in the 8th Annual KBest Christmas Lights Contest presented by Big Mike’s Farm Store! Every year, KBest partners with other participating local businesses to give away over $10,000 in cash and prizes to 33 winners across Big Spring and Howard County.
Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in 4 Howard County precincts, and 7 Big Spring city districts. This includes Highland South as its own “district” to compete against itself. There will be eleven 3rd place winners who will receive $125 in cash. Eleven 2nd place winners will receive $250 in cash, and eleven 1st place winners will receive a $500 prize. Plus one GRAND PRIZE WINNER will receive the “Six Flags Holiday in the Park” Prize Package, which includes: Four (4) tickets to Six Flags Over Texas and One (1) $50 gas card.
The contest is free to enter and the deadline to submit your legible entry form to KBest Media at 608 Johnson in Big Spring is Dec. 10th, at 3 PM. Note, a panel of judges will judge each entry address from the street/road between 5pm-Midnight on Friday and Saturday, December 13 and 14, 2024, so your lights must be on during that entire time period both evenings.
Each residence will be judged on four criteria: lights, creativity, design, and overall presentation. No preference will be given to religious decorations over non-traditional or whimsical themes; however, bonus points will be given to residents who include lighted poinsettias in their decorations, since Big Spring is the “Lighted Poinsettia Capital of Texas.”
Winners will be notified on or before December 18, 2024. For more information on how you can participate in the 8th Annual KBest Christmas Lights Contest presented by Big Mike’s Farm Store, find the entry form on our website KBST.com or find it pinned to the top of the KBest Media Facebook page!
