Texas Water Report November 2024
The Texas Water Development Board has released the latest water report. The latest drought map for conditions as of November 5 shows the first weekly decrease in drought area in more than a month. Widespread rains in early November brought one category of drought improvement to large areas of North and East Texas, outpacing degradations in Central and South Texas. In October 2024, 153 counties set or tied a record for the hottest October in the last 130 years, while 45 counties set or tied a record for the driest October, and 35 counties did both. Willacy County in South Texas had the “coolest” October (14th hottest) and second “wettest” (64th driest). For more information, go to the kbest media facebook page.
