BIG SPRING, TX — Next week is Homecoming week for Big Spring ISD. King and Queen Courts have been announced and voting for Homecoming King and Queen will continue at the Election Center for Howard County on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024. The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at the Homecoming game against Kermit on Friday, Oct. 11th, at Memorial Stadium.
KING COURT
Representing Football – AJ Yanez
AJ is a 3 year Varsity Football & Baseball Player. He is currently our starting QB and has been awarded Offensive Player of the Game and Big Spring Herald Athlete of the Week this season. He was also the 2024 1st Team All District Utility Player for Baseball.
Representing Cross Country (XC), Choir, & Student Council – Don Diego Rios
Diego made the 2022 XC all region team and the XC All district team for 2022 & 2023. He is a 2 time XC State Qualifier, the 2024 Track & Field 800m & 3200m District Champ, and the 2024 800m Area Champ. Diego has been a part of choir all 4 years of high school and is currently a member of Rhapsody. He is also a current student council officer.
Representing Golf – Brycen Billalba
Brycen has competed on the varsity golf team all 4 years of high school. He has been a part of 3 district championships and has qualified for regionals every year.
Representing the Pride Drive – Josh Rios
Josh helps lead the Pride Drive in 2024 season as a general officer. He was also a part of the Varsity Basketball team and is a certified welder.
Representing Basketball – Trystan Gonzales
Trystan has played basketball all 4 years of high school. He was also a member of the Pride Drive for 3 years and was a part of band leadership in the 2023-2024 school year.
QUEEN COURT
Representing Volleyball – Nevaeh Morris
Nevaeh has been a member of the Lady Steer Track & Field, Volleyball, and Varsity Cheer for all four years of high school. She is also a member of Family and Community Services, whose main goal is to give back to our community.
Representing Track & Field – Karisma Cepeda
Karisma has been a member of the Lady Steer Track & Field team since freshman year. She has also cheered all 4 years of high school. She was also a part of both our cross country and volleyball teams.
Representing Cheer – Trinity Muniz
Trinity has been a member of the Lady Steer volleyball team all four years of high school and a member of Varsity Cheer for 3 years.
Representing the Pride Drive – Carnesha Rutledge
Carnesha has been a member of the Pride Drive for 4 years. She has also competed in basketball for 4 years, volleyball for 3 years, and cheer for 2 years. She is our current mascot for the 2024-2025 school year.
Representing Soccer – Natalie Bustamante
Natalie is a member of Big Spring High School’s inaugural Varsity soccer team. She also competed in Steer softball and is a member of the Pride Drive.
