BIG SPRING, TX – Big Spring ISD recently announced that for the 2024-2025 school year all BSISD students on all campuses will be provided free lunch and breakfast.
This is made possible under the Community Eligibility Program under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2024-2025 school year. Schools qualifying to operate CEP serve breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of applications for free, reduced-priced, and paid student meals. This approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that these students receive nutritious meals.
In addition to this, Big Spring ISD will provide free school supplies to all students for the 5th consecutive year. All supplies have been sorted for the appropriate grade levels and are ready to distribute to students on the first day of school. Families will be responsible for providing backpacks for their students. According to BSISD Superintendent Jay McWilliams, this initiative was made possible by ESSER funds, which stands for Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief.
