BIG SPRING, TX — Since 2013 the Prom Closet has been assisting high school students to prepare for prom with beautiful dresses, jewelry, shoes, and accessories – all for free. Originally the Prom Closet was an idea organized by Christian Fair, Executive Director for the United Way of Big Spring and Howard County, and found a home at Ryan Hall thanks to the organization North Side Movement.
It is now managed by Eddilisa Ray. When asked why it was important for the North Side Movement to ensure that the Prom Closet was made available to the community, Ray said, “I know how important it is to have that prom moment where you feel special and have that great dress. Just one special occasion can make you feel so good and to have a special memories.”
“I’ve always been into fashion and I’m just so happy to help with that,” she continued.
Donations are always taken, whether it’s monetary, dresses, or jewelry. Anyone wanting to check out the prom closet can call for an appointment by calling Eddilisa at 432-213-5461.
