BIG SPRING, TX – On Thursday, Howard College held a dedication ceremony for the newly renovated Anthony Hunt Library at its Big Spring Campus. It highlighted two distinguished additions to the library – the Jean Broughton Teaching and Learning Center, and the Maria Hoag Reading Nook.
Dr. Cheryl Sparks, President of Howard College, explained that this was significant to Howard College because they want everyone to know that learning is important.
Originally constructed in 1967, the library has undergone extensive renovations to enhance college facilities and provide a more enriching experience for students, faculty, and the community. According to Dr. Sparks the changes have made it a modern day library.
She went on to say that Howard College is unique in that it can be beneficial to a wide range of students, from the student who has yet to complete their GED, to the student who has obtained a master’s degree and wants to do something different.
“That is what is so unique about Howard College and its location, we’re here to open doors and help people connect to the next world that they want to pursue,” said Dr. Sparks.
