BIG SPRING, TX — It’s been almost 20 years since 40-year-old William Arlin Bynum mysteriously disappeared from Big Spring. Arlin was last seen on the night of August 14 or morning of August 15, 2003 at the San Franciscan Bar and Restaurant in downtown Big Spring, then located at 125 E. 3rd. It is now the location of the Mezcal bar that closed earlier this year.
This has been a case that has been investigated by both the Big Spring Police Department and the Texas Rangers. At this time, there has not been any official information on a motive for Arlin’s disappearance, nor has his body been found, and they have not been able to identify the perpetrators.
It has been reported in multiple West Texas area newspapers that the investigators have conducted numerous searches of the Big Spring / Howard County area fields, scrublands, pastures, and oil field tank batteries but have yet to turn up any clues, skeletal remains, or any indication of what happened to Arlin.
