BIG SPRING, TX — Yesterday afternoon, Howard County Commissioners appointed Lindsay Wilkerson, current Assistant District Attorney for the 118th Judicial District, as the new County Attorney.
When asked why she applied for the position, Wilkerson stated that it was time for a change for her in her career path.
“It seemed like a natural next step and I’m happy to do it,” she said.
Wilkerson served as the Assistant District Attorney for 9 years under the recently retired District Attorney Hardy Wilkerson. She says she looks forward to making some changes that may have been long overdue and is grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve the county.
Wilkerson’s start date is July 10th. She advised the Assistant District Attorney position will be filled by whoever is selected by District Attorney Josh Hamby.
