BIG SPRING, TX — The 118th Judicial District Juvenile Probation Department will host a Parent Workshop on Monday, June 26th, from 5:30 – 6:30 pm at the Juvenile Probation Office, located at 315 S. Main in Big Spring. This will be a presentation by Martin Phillips and all parents and/or guardians are welcome to attend.
Chief Juvenile Probation Officer Brenda Tubb told KBest News this is the first year that the Parent Workshop has been offered. She stated that it is a very short workshop to provide resources to parents and guardians to explain the juvenile justice system, give tips and ideas to parents who are struggling with children who are showing signs of behavior issues or having behavioral issues.
“We want to just answer questions and give ideas. We can address any situations that parents are facing, and just inform the community that there are resources and agencies here to help,” she continued.
Tubb went on to say that there are a lot of parents that struggle with their children’s behavior issues and they just want them to know that they are here to help.
“We just want to help them, reach out, let them know that there are agencies here to help, and we’re here to help. There’s tons of resources. I know that several people think there’s not very many resources in Howard County, but there actually is. We just want to bring them those resources,” said Tubb.
In addition to Phillips speaking at the event, there will also be speakers from West Texas Centers and Maximus.
Again, the Parent Workshop will be held on Monday, June 26th, from 5:30-6:30 PM at the Juvenile Probation Office, located at 315 S. Main in Big Spring.
