BIG SPRING, TX — Congratulations to Patsy Sanchez, Principal of Big Spring Intermediate with Big Spring ISD, on being recognized as the 2022 Region TEPSAN Principal of the Year representing Region 18.
Twenty school leaders were recently named TEPSANs of the Year by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA). Members from the 20 TEPSA Regions across the state annually honor a colleague for their outstanding service to the association. Award recipients must be committed to advancing the principalship and the association as well as serving as a voice for Texas students.
Honorees were recognized at the TEPSA Awards Celebration on June 8 at the Round Rock Kalahari. The full list of the 2022 TEPSANs of the Year are as follows:

“These leaders are working harder than ever to serve their students and staff, yet they continue to support and advocate for educators in their region. We’re honored to recognize their tremendous work and servant leadership,” said TEPSA Executive Director Harley Eckhart.
TEPSA, whose hallmark is educational leaders learning with and from each other, has served Texas PK-8 school leaders since 1917. Member-owned and member-governed, TEPSA has more than 5,900 members who direct the activities of more than 3 million PK-8 school children.
Sanchez has worked for BSISD for over 25 years. She began her educational career as a 6th grade Social Studies teacher and also taught Reading and Science. Sanchez taught for 17 years and is now in her 9th year as Principal of BSI.
Mrs. Sanchez stated her inspiration is her family and BSI family.
“What can I say? I truly love my job. I love my kiddos and being a part of STEER NATION,” said Sanchez.
