Coahoma High School Football is continuing to raise standards again this season with Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Chris Joslin at the wheel. With seventeen seniors on the team, the program’s goal is to continue to build on last season’s success. Joslin states that both the quarterback and tight end are starting for the fourth year. Here he talks about his expectations for the season.
“We are got some big goals after last year and got a lot of kids back so first we gotta take one day at a time. I mean, that’s that’s the big thing but we feel like we’re in a good spot right now. We came in way ahead of the game of where we’ve been in the past cause we got of a lot of kids back and looked to build on the season that we had last year and and get back in the playoffs. And win some more gold balls, we’re gonna talk about it all the time because I feel like if you don’t talk about you don’t have that goal. That’s what we’re gonna do we’ve been talking about it as a group. Had exceptional summer, made it to the final four of the state 707 tournament so those kids are excited. It is our first trip to ever make that and they made it all the way down to the final four and so it was a big week for our program and so we got some goals out of our kids now.”
Joslin also credits the success of the Coahoma athletic program to “a great group of coaches.” He noted that none of the coaches have left the program and that is unusual for a 3A school.
