BIG SPRING, TX – The Big Spring Health Food Store recently celebrated 60 years of service to the Howard County community. The store opened in 1965 an in recent years has seen social media boost sales to the industry, but Mindy Sedberry, owner of the Big Spring Health Food Store, says it comes at a cost.
“I think that is a detriment because you get lower quality products being put out quicker. The standards aren’t as high for quality raw materials, but I also think people really need to consider that most of the time an influencer is exactly that they are influencing you to purchase what they are being paid to influence you for,” said Sedberry.
She also advised that consumers need to ensure that they are receiving the product that they are paying for.
“If you are not buying from a health food store, independently owned, even a mass market good quality supplement company, you are not guaranteed to be getting what you’re paying for.”
One of the goals for the staff at the Big Spring Health Food Store is to learn about the products so staff can educate customers. Sedberry told KBest News that when customers visit Big Spring Health Food Store they can be sure that they’re receiving quality products and that they have knowledgeable staff on hand to assist with your purchase.
She went on to say that the shop may not always have products that are trending on social media, but customers can be assured that she is waiting and either researching the product or trying to find a company that she trusts.
“I don’t just carry any company,” said Sedberry. “If I wouldn’t take it myself enough I don’t trust it. I’m not gonna order it. You know it took me several years to bring in CBD. There’s some items that I’ve waited on and there’s some items that I get asked for every single day in here that I will not carry because I just don’t trust that they’re what they say they are.”
