BIG SPRING, TX — On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the Big Spring Economic Development Corporation (BSEDC) met for a routine meeting – approving dates for next meetings, financials and budget arrangements – and discussed the future of the Crossroads Business Park following last week’s hailstorm.
The EDC originally scheduled the groundbreaking for the park along Interstate-27 for June 9, at 4pm; however, Mother Nature had other plans. Golf ball-sized hail rolled in the night before and resulted in the event being rescheduled.
At the meeting, Executive Director Mark Willis said they expected to try again late July to early August. Willis said this delay could be a blessing in disguise.
“We couldn’t get Cruz or Cornyn or Jody here because they were in session, but they probably won’t be in session at the end of July,” said Willis.
The BSEDC is hopeful because Crossroads will be the first business park along I-27, and given the slow year, attention could be just what Big Spring needs.
