BIG SPRING, TX — A severe storm with 70 mph winds and 2-inch hail blew through the Big Spring area yesterday at approximately 7:55 PM. Although the worst of the storm only lasted a few minutes, it resulted in a multitude of property damage throughout the community.
This included downed power lines, broken windows for vehicles, homes, and even Hotel Settles and other downtown businesses. Plus, extensive roof damage was observed for Faye’s Flowers on Gregg St. In addition to this, over 5000 power outages were reported by Oncor in the Big Spring area.
The YMCA in Big Spring has announced that their facilities, which include YMCA, YMCA Daycare, and YMCA Kids, will be closed today so they can assess the damages.
