BIG SPRING, TX — During Monday’s regular meeting of the Howard County Commissioners Court, outstanding male and female students from Howard County High schools were recognized. Big Spring High School’s outstanding students were Sharon Wang and Raul Gonzalez-Cruz. Ashlyn Hipp and Jaidyn Vineyard were recognized as the outstanding students from Coahoma High School. Forsan High School’s outstanding students were Mary Kate Gabeheart and Toryn Kendrick.
Commissioners also lifted the burn ban for Howard County. It was announced that the canvassing of the results from the May 3, 2025 election would not actually occur until Wednesday, May 14, 2025. The creation of the Howard County Emergency Services District 1 was also postponed as a result of this.
