In this most recent election, Coahoma Independent School District had multiple bonds for voters to decide on. Three of the four propositions were approved by voters.
Those that received a majority vote in favor of from the voters are as follows:
Proposition A for the issuance of bonds in the amount of $17,750,000 for school facilities and buses, and the levy of taxes sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds.
Proposition B for the issuance of bonds in the amount of $600,000 for school technology improvements and the levy of taxes sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds.
Proposition D β Yes β 1 vote: Issuance of bonds in the amount of $1,150,000 for school teacher housing and the levy of taxes sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds.
Proposition C received a majority of the vote against it. It dealt with an issuance of bonds in the amount of $1,375,000 for stadium facilities and the levy of taxes sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds.
After the election, CISD thanked community members who participated in the bond election. They stated, βThe approval of the three propositions enables CISD to enhance campus safety, address the needs of aging facilities, upgrade classroom technology, and offer incentives for teacher recruitment.
