Permian Basin residents are invited to hear from experts on Alzheimer’s disease and connect with other caregivers.
Midland/Odessa, TX – The Alzheimer’s Association West Texas Chapter proudly presents the Permian Basin Caregiver Conference on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST and will be held at Midland County Horseshoe.
This year’s conference will feature professionals from various fields as they discuss a wide range of topics equipping caregivers, friends and family of those with Alzheimer’s and dementia related diseases.
“We are proud to host our Caregiver Conference in the Permian Basin,” said Valerie Sanchez, Executive Director, Alzheimer’s Association West Texas Chapter. “You are not alone in this fight. This free event is for family caregivers, professionals, and the general public to learn the latest in research and resources for dementia care available RIGHT here in the Permian Basin.
Event topics include:
· Responding to dementia related behaviors through proper communication
· Caregiver self-care through body-based wellness
· How to manage mental and emotional health needs while providing care
· Legal matters- how to prepare for the journey ahead
· How to foster a safe environment for you and your loved one
· The latest advances in Alzheimer’s and dementia research
CEU’s will be available for a fee of $20 courtesy of Midland College.
The program is free and open to the general public, though registration to attend the event is required. Boxed lunch will be provided to registered attendees. Over 20 local exhibitors will be providing information and resources, door prize drawings, and much more!
