BIG SPRING, TX — A fatal fire occurred over the weekend in Big Spring.
According to Big Spring Fire Marshal Dan Hendrickson, the Big Spring Fire Department was notified about a structure fire at Park Village Apartments at approximately 12:30 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2025. When the first crew arrived, they found the fire involved a single downstairs apartment unit in a multistory apartment complex. Big Spring Fire Department had two fire truck companies a Ladder Truck company and a Battalion Chief that responded to the fire. Upon entry and initial search of the apartment a victim was found deceased in a back bedroom. All units were cleared from the scene by 2:00 a.m.
The cause of the fire has been determined to be that a recliner in the living room had ignited. BSFD is still attempting to make contact with the family and that information will not be released until contact is made.
