BIG SPRING, TX — April 4th is Go Blue Day! This is a statewide initiative to raise awareness for child abuse prevention. CASA of West Texas is encouraging the public to show their support by wearing blue on April 4th.
CASA stands for court-appointed special advocates. Their mission is to recruit, train and support committed volunteers appointed by judges to advocate in court and in the community for the best interest of children in the child welfare system.
CASA of West Texas supports volunteers who advocate for child abuse victims in 7 counties including Howard and surrounding counties. On April 30th, the Big Spring office will have a Lunch and Learn event for anyone interested in volunteering with them. That will be located at 1811 Scurry St. from 12-1 PM and lunch will be provided.
