BIG SPRING, TX — On Tuesday morning, the Salvation Army celebrated the groundbreaking for a new playground that is being built next to the Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Center. Major Pamela Moretz, Corps Officer and Co-Pastor with the Salvation Army in Big Spring, told KBest News that she had been working on this project for the last 4 years. The new structure is made possible by the donation of several sponsors.
The playground will be wheelchair accessible and will be covered. It will also have a fence around it for security purposes with security codes.
Major Moretz explained that once the playground is completed, kids at the Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Center will have an additional opportunity to get outside and exercise.
