BIG SPRING, TX — On Tuesday afternoon, a shed fire was reported in the area of 21st and Jennings in Big Spring. The Big Spring Fire Department responded amid a High Wind Warning in the area. Wind speeds were recorded up to 67 mph at the McMahon-Wrinkle Airpark.
According to BSFD Chief Jay Holt, the fire was caused by arcing electrical lines. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to 2 sheds with no occupants. He advised that no injuries were reported and they were assisted by the Big Spring Police Department, Atmos, and Oncor.
Chief Holt told KBest News that although it was extremely windy yesterday, it didn’t cause a problem for responders because everyone was able to work quickly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading.
