ANDREWS COUNTY, TX — On Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, at 7:16 AM, DPS Troopers responded to a one-vehicle crash near SE County Road 1000 in Andrews County. The preliminary information revealed that Jordan Taylor, male, 25 years of age, of Andrews, TX, driver of a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500, was traveling westbound on SE CR 1000 when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck then went through a fence and into a field on the north side of SE CR1000. Taylor was pronounced deceased at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX on 2/10/25 by Dr. Dar. This crash remains under investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
MARTIN COUNTY, TX – Texas DPS has identified the victim of a two-vehicle crash in Martin County that occurred on Monday afternoon. The preliminary information revealed that on Feb. 10, 2025, a 2017 Freightliner truck with trailer that was northbound, stopped on SH 349 in the inside lane, attempting to turn west onto CR 173. A 2020 Nissan pickup was traveling northbound on SH 349 in the inside lane and struck the trailer of the semi-truck from the rear. The driver of the Nissan, identified as Matthew Castaneda, male, 43 years of age, of Seminole, TX, was pronounced deceased on the scene. This crash remains under investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
