BIG SPRING, TX — On February 3,2025, the 118th District Court empaneled a 12-member jury and an alternate to hear a criminal case against Stephen Dior Taylor. Over the course of two days the jury heard evidence from 9 State’s witnesses regarding the Robbery which occurred at Sonic on Gregg Street. Mr. Taylor and another individual walked into Sonic around closing time, sprayed an employee in the face with a fire extinguisher and stole cash.
On February 4,2025, the jury found Mr. Taylor guilty of one count of Robbery. The jury returned a punishment verdict of 60 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Howard County District Attorney Joshua Hamby and 1st Assistant District Attorney Erika Nielsen tried the case.
