Be holly, jolly at Comanche Trail Park from 6-8 p.m. this Saturday
(BIG SPRING, TEXAS)- The annual Festival of Lights in Comanche Trail Park will welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus on Dec. 14 at the SM Energy Pavilion at 2801 Buffalo Trail Road.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in their sleigh from 6-8 p.m. to visit with children of all ages. Bring a camera if you’d like to take pictures with Santa. There is no cost to visit Santa, but donations are appreciated upon park entry to support the Festival of Lights.
The Sealed in Sweetness mobile coffee café will also be onsite Saturday. The Festival of Lights is open 6-10 p.m. every day through Dec. 25, but Santa is very busy this time of year and will only be available this Saturday before heading back to the North Pole. There will however be a mailbox for Letters to the North Pole available throughout the weekend.
The impressive Festival of Lights display, which features close to a million lights, has been a West Texas tradition for nearly 30 years. There are places in the park to stop while driving through the mile-long Festival of Lights to take seasonal selfies and festive family photos.
Big Spring is the Official Lighted Poinsettia Capital of Texas, and giant poinsettias can be seen throughout the festival as well as outside the park.
