(BIG SPRING, TEXAS)- The Big Spring McMahon-Wrinkle Airport and Industrial Park has established a 3-mile path along Rickabaugh Drive that is now open and available for all citizens to use. The path is 1.5 miles each way and has signs installed for mileage reference.
“As our citizens begin to enjoy the cooler weather and we start into the holiday season, we wanted people to have another option in the city where they can get outdoors and exercise,” said Mike Feeley A.A.E., Airport Director. “We want this to be an early holiday present to our community that they can utilize year-round.”
Open from sunrise to sunset with ample parking, Feeley hopes the Big Spring community will take advantage of the trail for exercise and family outings. The path was also designed with markings so it can be utilized for 5K races as well.
“The flat topography makes this a great location for jogging, running and family bike rides.” Feeley said. “There is very little vehicular traffic and no animal concerns like people may experience walking in a neighborhood.”
The trail is at 3200 Rickabaugh. As you enter the airport, stay to the right and there is vehicle parking in the rest area just inside the airport entrance. The starting marker is located near the Sonic sign.
