GLASSCOCK COUNTY, TX – A Big Spring man was killed in a traffic crash in Glasscock County early on Sunday morning.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on November 10, 2024, DPS Troopers responded to the crash at US 87, mile marker 400, at 2 AM. The fatal crash involved a 2022 Freightliner with trailer and a 2021 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Johnny Marciano Munoz, 21, of Big Spring, TX.
The preliminary information revealed that the Freightliner with a towed trailer was traveling northbound on US 87. Munoz was traveling south in the northbound lanes on the wrong side of the roadway and struck the semi-truck. The information from Texas DPS states that Munoz was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. He was later pronounced deceased at the hospital in Big Spring. The driver of the Freightliner was not injured.
This crash remains under investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
