HOWARD COUNTY, TX — A Big Spring man has been arrested for intoxication manslaughter in a two vehicle crash that occurred on Thursday night.
DPS troopers responded to the crash on July 25th at 9:22 PM near mile marker 374 on US 87. It involved a 2015 Ram 3500 driven by Jason Earnest Key, male, 41 years of age, of Big Spring, TX; and a 2018 Jeep driven by Jose Gonzales, male, 64 years of age, of Ackerley, TX.
The preliminary information revealed that Gonzales’s vehicle was northbound on US 87, parked on the shoulder of the roadway when it was struck from the rear by the Key’s pickup. Gonzales was pronounced deceased at the scene. Key sustained no injuries. He was arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter and booked into the Howard County Jail. This crash remains under investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
