BIG SPRING, TX — On July 25, 2024, the Howard County Grand Jury indicted 24 individuals for various crimes, one of which was a Big Spring man who was Steven Gonzales-Catala, 43, who was indicted for 16 counts of Arson from an incident that occurred on April 4, 2021 that involved the fire at the Ponderosa Apartment Complex in Big Spring.
Other individuals indicted were Glen Noble Burch, 24, and Eric Edward Coronado, 28, who were both indicted for possession of child pornography.
Marces Dione Morgan, 44, who was recently sentenced to 40 years in prison for two counts of aggravated sexual assault, was indicted for 3 counts of escape. This is related to last week’s incident when Morgan ran out the backdoor of the 118th District Courtroom during his trial. He was found in downtown Big Spring hiding behind dumpsters north of the Howard County Courthouse and recaptured.
