The Fourth of July is this Thursday and there will be millions of people taking the day off to celebrate the passage of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776 when congress voted in favor of independence from Great Britain. Most Federal, State, county and city offices will be closed for that day. These offices include all Howard County Offices excluding law enforcement and all Big Spring City offices will be closed with exception of police, fire and EMS. All offices will reopen on Friday, July 5th and will operate as normal.
