ANDREWS COUNTY, TX — A fatal four-vehicle crash occurred in Andrews County on Monday evening.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, at 7:22 PM on June 24th Troopers responded to the crash at State Highway 128, near milepost 224. The preliminary information revealed that a 2011 GMC Sierra, driven by 29-year-old Herman Olivas of Andrews, TX, was traveling east on SH 128. Three other vehicles were all stopped at a temporary construction zone traffic red light. Olivas failed to control the speed of his vehicle and struck the back of a 2013 Kia Optima. As a result, the Kia collided with the back of a 2023 Ford F150, which in turn struck the back of a 2024 Dodge Ram 2500.
The GMC and Kia came to rest facing east in the westbound lane of SH 128.
The driver of the Kia, identified as Rosa Pulgar Granado, 53, of Odessa, TX was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Mary Jane Baeza. Olivas sustained minor injuries and the other two drivers were not injured. This crash is currently under investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
