BIG SPRING, TX — The 90th annual Big Spring Cowboy Reunion and Rodeo is scheduled for next week. It begins at 7:30 PM on Thursday, June 20th, and will continue through Saturday, June 22nd, at the Rodeo Bowl, located at 2909 Fairgrounds Rd in Big Spring. It’ll be emceed by pro rodeo announcer Anthony Lucia.
According to their website, the Big Spring Cowboy Reunion and Rodeo dates as far back as 1934. What started off as a couple of cowboys in a dirt arena with a few wooden stands, has grown into a full rodeo featuring bareback riding, tie-down roping, mutton busting, some clownin’ around, bull riding and more! The current arena was built in 1950 and has received many updates over the years.
Tickets are $6 for kids and $10 for adults. First responders and veterans receive free entry into the rodeo, courtesy of Keystone Energy Services. Be advised entry into the rodeo does not include entry for the concerts. Musical entertainment for this year’s rodeo will be Kevin Fowler on Friday night, and Aaron Watson on Saturday night. General Admission tickets for Kevin Fowler are $10 each and General Admission tickets for Aaron Watson are $20 each.
