Deadly Shooting New Years Day San Angelo
33-year old Ryan Renfroe has been charged with murder stemming from an altercation that occurred in the early morning hours of New Year’s day. According to a press release from the San Angelo Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of S Chadbourne St in reference to a victim who had been shot. When officers arrived they made contact with a 23-year old male in the east alley way with an apparent gunshot wound. Officers along with medics attempted life saving measures but according to the press release the victim would succumb to his injuries. The press release would further state that officers would later make contact with the suspect (Renfroe) on the scene where he was detained for further investigation by SAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division. Investigators found that the suspect (Renfroe) and the victim knew each other and the incident stemmed from a previous altercation. The press release went on to state that both Renfroe and the victim agreed to meet with each other at the location of the shooting to continue the altercation. Once Renfroe and the victim made contact with one another the victim was allegedly shot and killed by Renfroe. Investigators would eventually charge Renfroe with murder and would be transported to the Tom Green County Jail according to the press release.
