BIG SPRING, TX — The Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed Chick-fil-A with a ribbon cutting yesterday afternoon. The restaurant’s grand opening is today. Chick-fil-A’s regular business hours will be 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. for dine-in and carry-out, and the drive-thru is open until 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Chick-fil-A Big Spring is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in Big Spring by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrees for a year. Owner-Operator Katie Moyle, a former elementary school teacher, has chosen to recognize teachers with these free meals. Two local elementary schools have been chosen with 50 receiving teachers at each school, Moyle said. The names of those schools and receiving teachers will be announced on December 5th.
Moyle describes herself and her husband as community servants. “It’s been a lifelong dream to be able to give back to the community as much as the community has given us over the years,” she said. “We’ve always been community servants with me being a teacher and him being a police officer, so for us, this is giving a little bit more. We’re actually able to influence the community, and just give a lot of jobs to people and be able to coach them and give them careers.”
Chick-fil-A Big Spring is bringing about 110 jobs to the community.
