The Texas Water Development Board has released the water conditions report for this week.
Compared to last week, the drought map for conditions as of November 14 shows an 11 percentage point decrease in the area of the state impacted by drought, the largest week to-week decline in drought area since September 2022 and the drought area is at its smallest value
since early August 2023. The latest drought outlook from the National Weather Service shows for conditions through the end of February 2024, and anticipates improvement across most of Texas. However, the drought is expected to persist in West Texas, while improvements in
Central and East Texas aren’t expected to eliminate the drought.
