BIG SPRING, TX — On Tuesday morning, the Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce held a “Thank You for Your Investment” presentation for The Chalet, located at 115 E. 2nd St. in Big Spring.
When asked how he felt about the presentation, Carl Reid, Community Relations Director for the Big Spring State Hospital, told KBest News that the Chamber is a great asset for businesses in town and The Chalet is blessed to be a part of it.
Reid told KBest News that The Chalet is a great resource for families and other community members to find Halloween costumes, recycled clothing, household goods, decor, and more.
“It’s a great opportunity to come down and save money on clothing and household goods,” he said.
According to Reid, the money raised from the Volunteer Services Council at The Chalet goes to benefit the clients at the Big Spring State Hospital, and they are in conjunction with all of the state hospitals and state supported living centers across the state of Texas. Because the local community is blessed to give so many clothing donations, all of the clothing that doesn’t get sold within a quarter gets donated to other state schools within Texas to help them with their clothing needs.
“It’s a great cause,” said Reid.
He went on to say that volunteers are always needed and it can take as little as just 1 hour on a Saturday to make a difference. For more information, contact Carl Reid, Big Spring State hospital Director of Community Relations at 432-268-7535 or email corl.reid@hhs.texas.gov.
